Le Salon d’Alone
A slide show opera for eight objects
Mixed media installation (installation, performance & vinyl) 30 mins
2008-2010
120 slide pictures, original music, booklet, wall painting, reindeer skins.
Project realised with the help of Musée d’Art Moderne de la ville de Paris, DRAC ile-de-france,Vision Forum Lingkopping Universitet.
A slide-show presents 120 different images of 7 oddities, all objects to whom I gave a personal story to integrate in a metaphysical opera. The soundtrack is composed by two musicians, Fred Bigot and Catriona Shaw, the text is by Pauline Curnier Jardin.
This piece can be seen on a stage, as a show (what I call a slide-play), or as an installation, both including a vinyl and a booklet.
The story: The tale told in this piece is the story of Seule-Alone, the
only human being on earth, who is alone in a house which used to be a
veterinary clinic. Often she leaves the building to go out and try to find
people with whom she could speak with. In the meantime, Alone already
gone, all the objects of the living-room tell their incredible stories.
